Aziz Quartey plans to shock Jonathan Tetteh in National Light Heavyweight Championship On Resurrection Fight Night

Abdul Aziz Quartey (23 – 6 -1) has disclosed that he will stop champion Jonathan Tetteh aka ‘Worldwide’ in their upcoming fight on April 5, 2026 at the Laboma Beach Resort.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Yours Truly on Omashi TV, ‘The Punisher’ as he loves to be called said this is his time to shine and a grand opportunity to relaunch his boxing career.

According to Abdul Aziz Quartey (28) he put boxing on hold for sometime to do business but after WBO Global champion Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey turned professional, he supported him to win many titles and now his love for the sport has returned.

He wants to have a title in his boxing record, and end his career on a good note as a national champion.

“Some people shine very early while others shine late, I am never discouraged in life that is why I have bounced back and want to face Jonathan Tetteh” he said.

He noted that after dealing with Worldwide he will face and beat Freezy Macbones aka Seth Gyimah in Kumasi.

“I am the right and better boxer to give Freezy Macbones that challenge he wants. because I will give him a good show” he expressed.

25 years old Jonathan Tetteh who is undefeated in 11 fights called the bluff of Quartey and promised to “switch off” his opponent.

“If Aziz is coming for war, I will cease his fire because I am the current king” he said.

Meanwhile, Aziz Quartey says he is popular and a better crowd puller than Tetteh who will bring boxing fans to the match venue.

He thanked RBS Promotions and Box Office Promotions for giving him the chance to fight and win a title on the Resurrection Fight Night.

“My family also deserves the best and we are going to win and celebrate in style” said the boxer whose mum is a popular rice seller.

The confident boxer asked for winner take all in the purse of boxers, however promoter Alex Ntiamoah Boakye said that is not possible.

The Atukpai born boxer learnt the rudiments of boxing at Attoh Quarshie Gym before moving to Black Panthers Gym. Currently he trains at the Wisdom Boxing Gym under Coach Dr. Ofori Asare.

His manager, Godfred Allotey who accompanied him said they are fully prepared and ready to rumble and win the national title.

“We will come and display the title here in your studio” he promised.
