President of WOSPAG, Madam Joyce Mahama who doubles as President of African Women In Sports (AWISA) said Ampe is a traditional sport which must be encouraged to be very popular because they want to make it an international sport to feature at the African Games.
She congratulated the winners and urged them to train hard for future events.
She appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES), National Sports Authority (NSA) and Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to support Women Sports.
She stated that women have done much for Ghana Sports and they should be motivated.
Mrs. Mahama gave special mention to para athlete, Zinabu Issah who won silver at the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Black Queens who qualified Ghana to the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 1999.
She advised the current Black Queens to be determined and show character if they want to qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
