Ghana’s Daniel Wadieh on Sunday defeated Ken Saleh of DR Congo at the finals of the Lightweight division of the 2026 African Mixed Martial Arts Championship in Luanda, Angola.
Ghana was taking part in the championships for the first time and the athlete. Wadieh was a delight to watch. He is very strong, smart, skilful, talented and just super.
Daniel Wadieh was Ghana’s only athlete at the 2026 All African Mixed Martial Arts Championship in Luanda, Angola and he made the nation very proud as one of the noticed athletes.
He defeated Alex Junior Kamgang of Cameroun at the semi-finals, others fell at the prelims and quater finals.
But the captain of the Ghana team said Africa should watch out because Ghana is coming with some terminators.
According to Wadieh the future is very important and Ghana should get tougher fighters in the future.
He thanked the people who pray for him to reach the top of Africa.
Mr. Collins Zoiku, President of the GHAMMAF, expressed joy because he predicted gold and it has happened.
He said Daniel prepared well and he lifted the flag of Ghana high in style.
Daniel Wadieh is based in the Netherlands and handled by Dutch coaches Frans Djimtche and Emirhan Bulduk. They are both from the Netherlands where Daniel is based.
Collins Zoiku said it is time government and corporate Ghana invests in MMA.
