Former Youth Coordinator of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Emmanuel Olla Williams aka ‘Gasman’ has suggested monetary rewards for student athletes who break national records.
Mr. Williams, CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus and leader of One on One Foundation said rewarding the athletes physically or with cheques with make them stay and not quit under the reasons of lack of financial support.

He said sports and education is always a good combination but without finance makes it a waste than investment.

Having involved in sports, youth and education programmes and events over the years, he thinks money is the motivation.
“I firmly believe if these super athletes are given stipends or allowances at school, it will cushion them and help them buy some items or even save” he stressed.
He watched the recent Inter Schools and Colleges Athletics Championship at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium and loved the whole atmosphere of a resounding crowd and marvellous performances by the athletes on the tracks.

‘Gazza’ was one of the most outstanding athletes at the recent Interco in the Ashanti region
He commended the sports organisers in the Ghana Education Service in the Ashanti Region and condemned violence among the students.
Olla Williams and One on One Foundation have been organising the Schools Sanitation Programme and Special Aerobics to promote healthy living among students on various campuses.

He holds other credentials as President of the Ghana Tug of War Association (GHATOWA) and President of Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) in Ghana.
