Coach John Oppong Welbeck is among the few selected coaches going to take part in the prestigious high course in football.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will host the 1st batch of the prestigious CAF Licence A Coaching Course from February 17 to 26, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram.
Backed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the intensive 10-day programme is expected to attract elite coaches from across the continent, all seeking to earn one of CAF’s highest coaching qualifications.
Coach Welbeck who handles the National Youth team of Ghana said it is a great opportunity and he will go and do his best and when he returns, the nation will benefit.
He has coached many clubs in Ghana and outside the country going as far as to South Africa.
He has unearthed and groomed many talents, most are playing for clubs in different parts of the world.
He expressed gratitude to the Ghana Football Association led by Kurt Okraku for the opportunity.
