Public Statement By Jeffery Nkrumah On False Allegations And Defamatory publications By Ghana Athletics Association And Media Outlets

I have recently been informed about the press release issued by the Ghana Athletics Association on the 27th March 2025 and republished by various media outlets. The Ghana Athletics Association allege that I have engaged in misconduct which includes sexual abuse of athletes and minors. The Ghana Athletics Association has publicly announced that my membership with the organisation has been suspended due to the ongoing investigation into the allegations.

These allegations are untrue, baseless and damaging to my hitherto untarnished reputation.

I have not been contacted by Ghana Athletics Association about the allegations, neither was I given the opportunity to respond or defend myself against these allegations before they were made public. This complete disregard for fairness and due process is a violation of the fundamental principles of natural justice.

To be clear, I am not a member of and never have been a member of Ghana Athletics Association. I have not been given any information about details of the allegations.

I have dedicated my life to supporting athletes and contributing to the growth of the sports industry in the UK, USA, Ghana and Kenya. Through my work, I have built relationships with communities, schools and businesses. Everything I do is based on trust, integrity, and accountability. To be accused of such allegations, has caused grave damage, not just to me, but to my family, my friends, the athletes I work with and to my businesses.

My legal team have written to the Ghana Athletics Association to demand a withdrawal of the public statement and issue a public apology. However, staff at the Ghana Athletics Association were instructed to refuse to accept the letter. A letter was also sent via email, but to date no response has been received. This is unacceptable.

I will pursue every legal remedy available to clear my name and ensure that Ghana Athletics Association is held accountable for the harm they have caused.
