Ghana’s Shakul Samed was stopped by the referee on Saturday during the final round, with only 45 seconds left in his scheduled six-round middleweight fight at the WBC Grand Prix tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after coming out strongly against Saul Morales.
According to reports, Shakul Samed, who represented Ghana at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was clearly leading on the score cards heading to the end of the fight though visibly tired but was unhurt, only for fight to be stopped 45 seconds to the end.

The Olympian said because he is black the officials want to cheat him. Coach Elvis Robertson said it was clear robbery.
Team Samed have lodged an official protest and our sources tell us he has been put on stand by for his weight category.
Gabriel Cofie, another Ghanaian could not fight as he has been placed on standby for the next competition in June.

Earlier Samuel ‘No Chance’ Quaye has also suffered a defeat against Canada’s Wilcox Spencer by a unanimous decision, 54-60, 55-59, 55-59 in super lightweight contest at the ongoing World Boxing Council Boxing Grand Prix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
