Miss Sarah Lotus Asare, Administrator at Wisdom Boxing Gym, managers of National Super Flyweight Champion, Theophilus Allotey aka Lopez has expressed that his next fight which is the tenth in his unbeaten professional journey is very important and significant and wants boxing fans to join in the Easter Boxing show on April 20, 2025.
The action will be under the Box Office Promotions bill dubbed ‘Brave Hearts’ where Allotey, an Olympic Games Qualifiers and African Games medalist faces David Tagoe with fifteen fights, three loses and one draw for the UBO Africa Super Flyweight title.
She said Allotey excelled at the Amateur level and his experience should inspire him to put up an exciting performance, also Lopez as he loves to be called is undergoing grooming and mentoring to see him as a sports personality, ambassador or idol for the youth.
She noted that Allotey is a top class world known boxer who served his nation very well and now progressing in the professional ranks, undefeated and ready for continental challenge.
Sarah Lotus Asare who is daughter of Ghana’s celebrated boxing trainer. Dr. Ofori Asare said women and girls can play many roles in the sport apart from standing in the ring to box or card girls. She mentioned coaching. refereeing, medicals ring announcing or MC. management and promotions as well as catering and hospitality services as roles that females can play.
She stated that boxing is a gift given to the Ga Mashie people of Accra in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana and they must use it to promote their culture, tourism, education, security, sanitation and environmental issues.
She has also written a book, ‘B for Bukom’ which would be launched soon.
