Hawah Brito, Vincent Torgah and Tang Bin win big at Giti Tyres President Putter Tournament at Sakumono

The much anticipated 2025 Giti Tyres President Putter Golf Championship has ended at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono in the nation’s capital with Hawa Britto, Tang Bin and Vincent Torgah winning respective categories of the competition.

The tournament which is played annually to honour the President of the Celebrity Golf Club, Tang Hong for his contribution and leadership role in the development of the sport brought together over two hundred and forty golfers with sponsorship with Giti Tyres. After days of some thrilling golf at the venue, the three golfers, Britto, Torgah and Tang stood tall in the competition.

In a pull of sixty-four pros including four ladies who played for three days, one of the hot favorites of the competition, Vincent Torgah lived up to his expectation as he dominated on the score board from two day. Despite the last day challenge from the likes from Kojo Barnni, Francis Torgah among others,

Torgah maintained his focus and clinched the professional category trophy of the competition plus a prize money of ghc 20, 000. In the pros, senior category, Robert Degbe brushed off competition from Agbeko D and S.K Klan for the top prize while Vivienne Kouame grabbed the lady’s professional first position spot ahead of Jessica Beals Tei, Mercy Werner and Felicity Gyeabour.

In the ladies group A contest, Livia Hawah Brito pushed her self-harder on the greens and bagged 38points to win that category beating Cathy Fabbi and Pamela Atila to the second and third places.

Ever joyous Aileen Conteh stepped out for the lady’s group B first spot prize with Jacinta Bey and Naomi Akweley Addo finishing second and third positions.

The Chinese golfers dominated the men’s group A category of the competition after Tang Bin, Fuhai Yang and Yang Lin Jack grabbed the first three positions and went home with some attractive prizes such as Television sets, air conditioners, car batteries among others. Don Obilor, John Blay , Keegan Wang and Vincent Frempong Boakye all smiled home after placing well in the men’s group B category.

Teenage sensational, Kingsley Afful secured the scratch category top prize at the closing ceremony of the Giti Tyres President Putter Golf Tournament after bagging 225 points beating Desmond Abban and Samuel Agyiri to the second and third position.

In the women’s senior competition, Helen Appah, Beatrice and Vetch Bempong were victorious. Other auxiliary prizes such as the longest drive and closest to the pin were presented at the function which was witnessed by Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams who commended the sponsors for the investment into the game.

President of Celebrity Golf Club, Tang Hang thanked the various golfers for their participation and indicated that his readiness to do more for the sports especially at the club.
