The much estimated Amateur Boxing League which was launched by the Minister of Sports & Recreation, Hon Kofi Adams has been scheduled to start on April 4, 2025 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
This was disclosed to Yours Truly by Madam Shirley Acquah – Harrison, MD of the Trust Sports Emporium Ltd at a meeting at the Trust Sports Emporium on Wednesday.
She said the boxers who will compete have been selected by the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) and they are ready for action.
According to the Madam Acquah – Harrison whose Trust Sports Emporium are sponsors, the competition will be very exciting and invited boxing fans to come and watch the rising stars who would be selected for the new Black Bombers and Black Rockets.
Further discussions by organisers proved that only males are competing and in the near future they will consider females to build up the Black Hitters squad.
Mr. Yemi of the TSEL said the competition is expected to be very interesting as the selection process was tough.
He appealed to corporate Ghana to join the TSEL and GBF to reward the boxers.
The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah who was at the launch has urged companies and organisations to support the league.
