Mr. Yussif Mubarak Nanor, winner of the 2024 Boxing Ghana Best Matchmaker award has disclosed that 2025 and beyond will see more exciting boxing matches at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Speaking on Omashi TV, The Big Fight Night with Yours Truly, the manager of Safe Box Promotions promised to collaborate with the Sharaf Mahama Foundation to unleash spectacular boxing under Legacy Rise Sports management.
He noted that the young boxers in Ghana who are really ready for world contests and championship will be granted the platform to perform.
He said Accra will soon become a destination for international boxing and world title matches can be brought to the capital so boxing fans should be prepared to watch more exciting live bouts.
He explained the role of matchmakers and said they should be recognised for their contribution.
According to the popular boxing records keeper and assistant at the Ghana Boxing Authority, the nation abounds in talent, however managing them is not easy and hoped that more investment could be pumped into boxing.
“Boxing is my life and boxing has made me who I am now so I can’t say Ghana Boxing is down or up. We are all involved and so if anyone identifies a problem, he should alert the GBA so that it is solved on time”
“There are problems in every human institution and we have to unite than wash our dirty linen in public” he expressed.
Nii Armah as he is also called noted that Ghana will get a world champion very soon. He tipped potential boxers like Daniel Gorsh, John Laryea, Samuel Takyi, Abu Kamoko, Kevin Carter and Stanley Nyantekyi aka ‘Ashanti Warrior’
He prayed that boxers will always be well conditioned to be able to deliver whenever called to duty.
He thanked all boxing fans who attended the Legacy Rise bill ‘Ultimate Legacy Fight Night’
He also appreciated the gestures of President elect HE John Dramani Mahama, Sharaf Mahama, Hon Kotey Ashie, Prof Azumah Nelson and all the dignitaries and celebrities who graced the event.
