Results of the 2024 Boxing Ghana Awards have been announced on Boxing Day December 26 with Joseph Commey aka ‘Jaguar’ raking the highest votes to win the Boxing Personality of the Year Award
He also had most votes in the Elite Amateur Boxer of the Year and Fight of the Year.
Juvenile Amateur Boxer of the Year category went to Mathias Ashitey while Prince ‘The Buzz’ Larbie won Best Juvenile Boxer.
The Professional Boxer of the Year was picked by Stanley Nyantekyi aka ‘Ashanti Warrior’ as Best Female Boxer went to Abigail Quartey while Blessing Larteley Lartey took the Female Juvenile Best Boxer.
Theophilus Allotey was adjudged the Best Dressed Boxer in addition to Boxing For Good Award.
Bronx Boxing Club took the Best Boxing Gym Award with Coach Carl Lokko topping the list of distinguished trainers.
Best Card Girl was taken by Jacqueline Onasis Manteaw while the Best Ring Announcer went to Sam Nana Gold Amoah.
Ace Sports Journalist, Sammy Heywood Okine won the Best Boxing Writer missing the Boxing Media Personality which went to Mohammed Agyeman Jr. of IboxTV fame who also took the Photographer of the Year.
The Legacy Achievers were David Kotey Poison, Lawyer Peter Zwennes, Alex Ntiamoah Boakye and Dr. Ofori Asare.
The Best Boxing Fan was shared by Alhaji Dauda Fuseni, Sammy Anim Addo and Gordon Frimpong aka Osibor who won Manager of the Year.
The Best Boxing Television Station went to Max TV, as Bernard Tetteh Nartey won the Best Amateur Referee Judge award.
The Best Professional Boxing Referee of the Year went to Nathaniel Kotey Neequaye and Yussif Nanor Mubarak took the Best Matchmaker Award.
Box Office was adjudged the Best Promotions of the Year and Greater Accra won the Best Region involved in boxing organisation and activities.
In all 30 categories were honoured in the much patronised competition.
Due to the massive interest the Boxing Ghana Awards has gathered, a number of companies and individuals have promised to support in rewarding the winners.
