The 3rd edition of the GoGetDem wheelchair racing Event ended successfully at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The event marked world disability day and saw over 50 disabled kids participating in the events.
Speaking to the media, the President of GoGetDem, a three-time Paralympian, Raphael Bostyo Nkegbe said, I desire to give back to the society and train more kids with disabilities to be able to have hope. I thank God for a successful event and hope to fill up with all the kids who came from other regions.
‘My team have identified some talents during our two editions, and we’re grooming them very well. We have also spotted more talent today and will start to train them in wheelchair racing.
The one-day event was graced by the MP for Osu- Korle klottey Hon.Zenator Rawlings who assured the physical challenge that, the issues of inclusivity is something which is really dear to my heart, As I keep saying, person living with disability are looking for equity, fairness, and Justice.
“I want to congratulate you all for being here today, to the parents and guardians who are living with children with disability, looking for a child who has a disability in Ghana is not easy, the system is not fixed properly for to make it easy for you. They are not given the kind of treatment they need, to make it easy to care for the children. These are the things we need to address and will continue to fight for that as the Member of Parliament.’ He added
