PGA Ghana To Celebrate 50 Years Next Year – Alhaji Ahmed Padori Hints Fantastic Festivities

Director of Operations of the PGA Ghana, Mr. Ahmed Padori has announced that next year which is the 12th edition will be climaxed with their 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee).

This year’s tournament which saw many changes and improvements attracted female professional golf players and some countries represented were Zimbabwe, Zambia. Uganda, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria.

Senegalese Oumy Dieye won the ladies category and took home 15 000ghc, hamper and trophy.

Veteran multiple awards winner Amos Korblah won the Seniors category prize of 15,000ghc and added another trophy to his collection.

The four day tournament was competitive as every player wanted to win. and there were surprises as 2023 runner up Kojo Barmi (12th) and 2023 winner Sunday Oladepo (11th) from Nigeria were not in the top ten.

Alhaji Ahmed Padori was impressed with the competition, and congratulated the players from other countries.  He advised the young professional golfers to be disciplined and contributed positively to support the PGA executive positively.

He hinted that the Golden Jubilee of the PGA will be celebrated in grand style.

In another development, Roger Adamah of Genser Energy has called for massive support for involvement of kids into golf.

He has appealed to parents and guardians to introduce the children into the game of golf.

He said the kids can become the future stars as it is better to prepare and groom them to become international champions.

Meanwhile the chairman of the organizing committee of the 11th Genser PGA Championship, Hans De Beer also backs the idea to build for the future through the kids.

He observed that women professionals have increased in the country now they have to face challenge from other African country.

Roger Adamah is a member of the planning committee of the 11th Genser PGA Championship and a golfer, a former captain of Damang golf club.

Hans De Beer is a keen golf enthusiast and mining manager at Goldfields Ghana and well connected to Genser Energy.

Ahmed Padori is also passionate about golf and has played for a long time. He is the mover and shaker of the PGA, alongside Mr. Akwasi Prempeh, the tournament director. It is their wish that Genser sponsors the PGA for the next five to ten years.
