Mr. Abraham Nkansah aka Apirigu Chakapama, President of Die Hard Sports Supporters and an executive member of the Ghana Supporters believes there is something wrong with the national senior football team.
Speaking to the media on Monday after the Black Stars lost 2-1 to Niger in the last group qualifier to the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco, he said the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku must sit up and find the solutions.
He noted that the junior national teams and female teams are doing quite well however it is bad and poor on the part of the Black Stars.
Ghana did not win a single game, drew three and lost three in the qualifiers to amass six points as Angola led and Sudan who did not play a single game at home placed second to qualify.
Meanwhile, many factors have been linked to the poor performance of the national team; from treatment of old stars who won cups for the nation whose promises have not been honoured to the current coach’s lack of experience and current sports minister.
Some also say local players must be given the opportunity over foreign based players who do not know the culture of the people.
