Autumn Challenge In Orlando- John Abaja Laryea To Prove Too “Expensive” Against Alexander Meija Of Nicaragua On Friday Night November 1st

Fight Preview, analysis and prediction: with Dennis Kweku Moore, Boxing analyst, writer and commentator;

The upcoming Yulitide season will be full of action and autumn surprises for Ghana boxing. Andyglow TV brings you an exclusive insight and ring analysis, predictions in this all awaited battle between Ghana’s ” Expensive boxer”- John Abaja Laryea and Nicaragua’s 33 year old Alexander Meijer, drawing down a USA debut of intense hostilities between the two pugilists come Friday night in Orlando, Florida.

PREVIEW: The “drought” affecting Ghana boxing with reference to “world champions” has become an albatross on the neck of the tiny west African country. Perhaps, just perhaps this is the beginning of good things to come. Obviously, this fight will take the shine out of the simmering Elections coming up. Ghana’s John Abaja Laryea can write a script and alter the political statusquo into a boxing frenzy even into christmas.

I have personally followed John throughout his “chesty” quest to make Ghana proud in the ring. And this offers the right syllabus for every lover of the game to focus on his deliverability on American soil. It is the dream and desire of every Ghanaian boxer to utilize such opportunity to shine – and John is here to cement that mission.

I will be tactically dissecting the near chances of both boxers in this particular fight, drawing out the possible predictions and outcome of Friday’s fight. You obviously would want to listen to live commentary on our app- Andyglow TV on playstore and be part of this history.

FIGHT ANALYSIS: This should be the first time both boxers would be “sightseeing” the beautiful terrain of Orlando, Florida. But the fight would roll this way!

John Abaja Laryea “Expensive Boxer”  (13-0-1-11KOs) will have to contest the novelty crowd in Orlando to keep his teeth afloat.

I have interacted with John way back to his career and I can testify he is fully disciplined and has a mission to accomplish. His orthodox stance and leg movement gives him a slight urge over his Nicaraguan opponent. Laryea jabs and statistically controls this fight with a much respected KO percentage on paper and in person.

The likes of George Krampah, Solomon Martey, Gabriel Odoi Laryea and his recent victim Isaac Dowuona can all testify the venom on those gloves John carries.

Nicaragua is a great boxing country notwithstanding. We can quickly recall Nicaragua boxing greats like the late Alexis Arguelo, David Obrega,Rosendo Alvarez Jose Alfaro, Julio Gamboa, welterweight legend Ricardo Mayorga and 4 weight class division native Roman Alberto Luna Gonzalez ( Chocolatito). Meija takes inspiration from all these and has learnt a lot from them.

At 33, Meija (16-1-0-7KOs) knows his record is not all that intimidating and this was glaringly evident in his fight against Alan Picasso Romero. Alexander Meija loves to surge forward at times but even most of his own countrymen are not happy the way he let go off his guards during such “attacks”. His legs are vulnerable and any boxer who becomes very consistent with his jabs on the left side of his chin will surely floor him. He prefers to protect his face more often than to deliver shots. His fight against Hopey was very evident. Moving a lot in the ring without any meaningful engagement is his trademark.

PREDICTIONS: For the young Ghanaian, this fight would be fuelled by the love for the sport. This fight is bent on opening chapters in a legacy of a coach in Carl Lokko, a name that resonates success and experience in the pugilsm industry. The corner of John Abaja Laryea WILL be crucial in this exercise. Luckily, the weather in Orlando will be friendly to the Ghanaian.

With all intent and purposes, John can easily win this fight if his jabs becomes incessant. He should not fathom of any knockout. He should not be on the defensive side throughout. And the fight is done.

Andyglow TV predicts a unanimous victory for the “Expensive Boxer” on Friday night. Meija might employ intimidatory tactics on John laryea during the first six rounds. The Ghanaian must absorb such empty advances by jabbing and jabbing.

The Caribe Royale will welcome the “Expensive Boxer” to his first international victory fight and this will shake the foundations of Ghana Boxing.

Let’s get rolling, people.
