The Preliminary Draw of the involving 2024 / 25 MTN FA Cup has been held at GFA Headquarters on Thursday October 17, 2024.
According to Mr. Frank Nelson Nwokolo, chairman of the GFA Marketing, Sponsorship and Events Management Committee, the MTN FA Cup competition has always been exciting and interesting as it involves clubs from the premiership, first division and second division.
He recalled some unknown clubs winning to become popular over the years like Nania FC and even last season when Nsuatreman won by defeating Bofoakwa in the final.
Mr. Nelson urged football fans in the regions to support the competition.
Mr. Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, head of Public Relations and Strategy at the GFA said the MTN FA Cup is the competition that can create surprises and shocks. He also called on football fans to support their clubs and players to make it successful.
MTN Ghana, the unique sponsor also has special packages for the clubs, officials and fans. This year is certainly going to be an improvement.
The prelims involving 92 second and third tier clubs was held on Thursday, while the premier clubs will join at the round of 64 stage between November 29 December 2, and the round of 32 to be played between January 10 to 13, 2025, while the round of 16 between February 21 to 24, 2025.
The quarter finals and semi finals have been scheduled for March 28 to 31, 2025 and May 9 to 12, 2025 respectively.
The finals would be played between June 14 – 15, 2025.
