Wants To Face Best Super Featherweights Especially Emmanuel Navarrete Of Mexico

Former WBO Global Bantamweight Champion, Wasiru Mohammed aka Gyatabi who quit boxing for four years when he was sixth best in the world has returned and apologised to his fans and admirers for seeing him missing in action.

“I am back and back for good as a super featherweight and ready to face the best in Ghana, Africa and the world. I want to fight Emmanuel Navarrete of Mexico, and take revenge for my former sparring mate Isaac Dogboe” he said on The Big Fight Night on Omashi TV.

Wasiru Mohammed expressed that Ghana Boxing is down because there is no world champion and the administration is not well managed because there are so many things not going the right way.

He regrets training hard and missing a grand chance to fight in Germany, because some people ditched the bout.

He noted that the bout in Germany is still pending and he will go outside Africa and win.

His trainer, Coach Lartekwei Lartey, a former dancer and cloths dealer, CEO of Fit Square Boxing Gym said he will not disclose their travel plans, but they are back and ready to give fans good bouts.

He noted that some fraudsters made up of greedy promoters, corrupt managers and fake match makers have entered the game and they try to manipulate fights or cheat boxers.

He called on the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to stamp its feet on the ground and identify boxers who can be potential world champions.

He disclosed that the best para boxers are training at his gym and they also have a future.

Wasiru Mohammed called for investment into boxing by companies to make boxers financially sound.

Coach Lartey urged boxing fans to dress gently and fashionable when attending bouts as boxing is a sport that attracts ladies and gentlemen. He advised the GBA to establish an award for best dressed boxing fan at every event.

Gyatabi and Coach Lartey were accompanied to the Omashi TV studio by some of their fans. They thanked fantastic manager, Mr.John Manfo, a member of the GBA Board for his wonderful support and motivation.
