Alexander Mejia from Nicaragua is the new opponent for Ghana’s John Laryea as he launches his career in the USA.
Mejia, 33 has a record of 19 wins 9 loses and zero draw. He stands at five feet five inches, 165cm with the orthodox style.
Alexander Jose Mejia Gonzalez, nicknamed ‘Popeye’ has lost his last five bouts and John Laryea will make him lose again. He once held the Nicaraguan Super Bantamweight title.
John Laryea also called ‘The Expensive Boxer’ from the Bronx Gym in Ghana under Coach Carl Lokko is 24 years old and also stands in the orthodox style.
He has 13 wins, no defeat and one draw.
According to the match maker Melvin Rivas, the bout will take place on Friday November 1, 2024 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Orlando, USA.
Local Manager of Laryea, Mr. Sammy Anim Addo is very optimistic his ward will win to pave way for more opportunities.
“We have prepared well for this trip and we are not going to let the chance slip, we are definitely going to win to prove that Ghana Boxing is on the rise” he expressed.
