Abubakar Faisal knocks out Sunday Opaogun in first defense of WBO Africa Super Lightweight Belt

Ghana’s Faisal Abubakar aka Poncho Power defeated Nigerian Samuel Opaogun by a round five technical knock out to successfully defend his WBO Africa Super Lightweight title belt before a large crowd at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, August 31.

Referee May Mensah Akakpo stopped the bout in the fifth round after Samuel was caught with a punch that sent him to the canvas, but he stood up immediately, and when the referee called him to come forward he just wobbled and that was the end of another interesting fight.

Samuel started the fight well in the first round with hefty blows, but slowed down as he was cut on the eye lid as proceedings became intensified.

After the bout when he recovered. He called for a rematch and commended his fans calling Ghana his second home.

Faisal who is managed by PricelessLife Entertainment  thanked his fans. GBA, WBO and his trainers at Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation Gym for another great victory. He is looking forward to bigger challenge and the world title.

He hoped to get to the top 10 in the world after his next defence.
