Ghana’s Black Sharks defeated the Sand Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire 5-3 in the first leg of the 2024 AFCON Beach Soccer qualifier at Emancipation Beach in Keta. The return leg has been fixed for 28/07/2024 in Abidjan.
Cheetah Beach Soccer Club goalkeeper Daniel was in post, while captain Afraid Torsu got the opener for Ghana, and defender Kini Ticor won the man of the match award scoring two goals.
“The entire team played very well beating Ivory Coast 5-3 in the first leg. The second leg in Ivory Coast is going to be tough but I believe these boys will make Ghana proud” said Alhaji Yartey.
The crowd was massive as the people of Keta came out in the numbers to support the national beach soccer team. It was a great atmosphere
Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and Mr. Yayye Yartey of Cheetah FC fame congratulated the players and urged them not to be content but goo all out to qualify.
