Soccer For Dreamers Donate Football Kits To Kumasi Based Disability Club, Asanteman FC

Soccer for Dreamers, an NGO, has presented football kits to disability team, Asanteman FC at an impressive ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Friday, July 12.

Mrs. Sylvia Akwaboah, President of Soccer for Dreamers said their focus is to support grassroots football and their project cuts across able and disabled as well as both sexes, hence their donations to various football clubs in Ghana since 2022.

At the third presentation ceremony, Soccer for Dreamers donated to five female clubs in the Greater Accra Region, four male teams from the Eastern Region and the disability team based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region with some of the Black Challenge, Ghana Amputee national team players.

“The disability team benefited due to the country’s exploits in disability football and we present our widows mite to encourage them” she said.

She and her three children, Baruch, Jed and Kayden Akwaboah who played football in Singapore, UK and USA, their dad and grand pa were at the event and they were excited to meet the disabled footballers.

She urged them to look beyond football, building up themselves in their minds and join the Ubuntu Online Academy.

Coach Ali Jaraa, Technical Director of the Black Challenge said thewere very grateful and thanked Soccer for Dreamers for the kits from New York Red Bull club based in the United States of America.

He was optimistic that they will use the kits well and also log on the Ubuntu Online Academy, an initiative of Soccer for Dreamers to find other opportunities after football.

Mr. Obed Tuffour, Compliance and Integrity Officer of the GFA Foundation advised the players to support the integrity of the game and shun things that corrupt football.

The GFA Foundation partnered Soccer for Dreamers in line with its mission and objective of initiating and supporting projects and programmes that improve lives and livelihoods of Football people and communities.

Ms. Rosalind Amoh, a sports journalist and Vice President of Ghana Women’s Football also advised the players to study the rules and regulations of football and contribute to the positives of the game.
