Mohammed Amin Lamptey, PRO / Communications Director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has urged promoters and match makers to give young rising boxers the right challenge and opponents who can test and bring the best out of them.
“Winning cheap or arranged bouts will not make you a world champion, unless you face and beat the best” he said.
The Public Relations and Media lecturer said Ghana Boxing is suffering from fixed bouts and that is not what the fans want.
He praised Ayitey Powers Promotions and their package which featured Freezy Mcbones and Baubali versus Soldier Boxer.
Amin Lamptey who is a ring announcer noted that Stanley Nyantekyi aka Ashanti Warrior and John Zile are good but needed to be tested by a crack opponents and not oldies and veterans such as Akuffo Addo and Isaac Nettey who have lost touch on the game.
According to him, boxing must be considered as serious business always and advised Match Makers to give fans good and attractive pairings.
He prayed that the upcoming third Ghana Professional Boxing League will be competitive and exciting.
