Derek ‘Show Love’ Quaye Weeps After ‘Disciplining’ Michael ‘One Bullet’ Ansah In Two Rounds

Last Saturday was another eventful night at a filled to capacity Bukom Boxing Arena at the Trust Sport Emporium in Accra where enterprising young and energetic Derek Quaye aka ‘Show Love’ of the Discipline Gym displayed focus, determination, power and panache to stop experienced Michael ‘One Bullet’ Ansah of The Gym in one minute 12 seconds of the second round on the Fists of Carnage bill.

The fans in Bukom, James Town and Chorkor had argued and debated as well as betted on the main bout, so they were anxious to see the verdict which went to the undefeated Quaye.

In the post fight interview, he thanked God, his trainers and management, the promoters and fans. He recalled how he wakes up at dawn and suffers in the sun to train, and knelt down on the canvass to shed tears of joy.

Show Love appealed to the people of Ghana to unite and not fight before, during and after the upcoming general elections. He said his ambition is to win a world title.

Two aspiring Members of Parliament for Odododiodoo Constituency Hon. Abdul Manaf of the NPP and Hon. Kotey Ashie of the NDC have promised to offer him a holiday treat in South Africa and Dubai, UAE respectively.

In other title bouts, Holy ‘Jaw Breaker’ Dorgbetor stopped Hamadi Furahisha of Tanzania via a round 7 TKO to annex the IBF Continental Africa featherweight title.

Delali Meledzi of the Seconds Out Gym outpointed Ishmael Tetteh by a unanimous decision unanimous points decision, 97-93, 98-92, 97-93, to claim the WBA Pan Africa Middleweight belt which was presented by former GBA President Lawyer Peter Zwennes.

The Gym’s Samuel Quaye aka ‘No Chance’ also retained his National Lightweight belt against rising Daniel Quaye aka ‘High Tension’ of the Bronx Gym. The champ outclassed his namesake in an unanimous points decision scored 116-110, 116-110, 116-112.

Samuel Martey of Ace Power fame earned a round 4 KO over Iddi Kayumba of Tanzania in an International Super Bantamweight contest.

George Faho Mensah, who is managed SP Sport Management and trains at Panix won against veteran Emmanuel Allotey who gave up after six rounds.

Michael Pappoe won against Ezekiel Annan. Emmanuel Quaye of the Bronx Gym also won, likewise Africanus Neequaye of James Town Gym.

Box Office and the collaborating partners, Cartel Events, Ace Power Promotions, Twin Stars and Aborigines Promotions must be commended for another wonderful boxing entertainment show.
