John Mahama, flag bearer of the NDC on Wednesday welcomed the national Amputee National team, the Black Challenge to his residence and offered them financial and moral support.
He expressed his joy to meet the team as he has been following them on social media and congratulated them for winning the African Amputee Football Cup, beating Morocco at the final.
He assured them of his continues support to them when they come to power.
Mahama believes when they get the good financial support they will go far, and commented that the last time Black Stars won a trophy was over 40 years ago.
The former President presented a token of $10,000 to be shared among the players of the Black Black Challenge team for winning the 2024 Africa Amputee Africa Cup of Nations (AAFCON).
The outstanding player, Mubarak Mohammed and coach Stephen Obeng and goalkeeper presented their awards to him. Skipper Richard Arthur Opentil assured the former President of more laurels.
