Laryea Kingston has quit as Black Starlets coach after his team lost to Burkina Faso at the Semi Final of the West African Zone B Cup of Nations on Saturday.
He did not give reasons but noted he made the decision even before the tournament. He added that he will give his reasons later.
Ghana lost 1-2 to northern neighbors, Burkina Faso at the packed Legon Sports Stadium.
Burkina Faso are thus through to the final of the competition
Asharaf Tapsoba capitalizes on Goal keeper Michael Armah’s mistake to give Burkina Faso a shock lead.
Armah had been one of the best players before that error.
The Black Starslets will play for the 3rd and 4th place
Laryea Kingston’s team lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the semi finals of their WAFU B U-17 championship in Accra on Saturday.
The Starlets are exiting the competition at home for the second time in a row, after also losing to the same Burkina Faso at the same stage in 2022.
Laryea Kingston played active football for Cowlane Babies, Accra Great Olympics, Accra Hearts of Oak and the various national teams of Ghana from U17 to the senior team. He had professional football stints in Libya, Scotland and Russia.
