Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) has thanked all who supported them to grab most medals for Ghana at the recent 13th African Games.
In a message, he said the Games was a legacy project for Ghana and thanked the government of Ghana, the ministry of Youth & Sports, WAF President, AASC President, federation Presidents, officials, coaches, referees, pullers, media and partners.
According to Mr. Asibey who is Vice President of the WAF due to his position as President of Africa Armrestling Federation and Secretary General of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and Vice President of Ghana Athletics, the dream must be lived and celebrated.
He promised to deliver 15 medals but at the end got Ghana 41 medals made up of eight gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze.
Ghana will host the World Armwrestling Championship later in the year and he feels very proud that many people are now aware of what the sport can bring to the nation.
