The 13th African Games gradually takes shape towards its epic showdown in Accra, as all the venues set for the big games have been well structured and ready to showcase Ghana to Africa and the world.
The Games Village at the University of Ghana is one of the venues to take a key look at, as its facilities boast quality infrastructure after a comprehensive investment to make it ready for the big games.
The Games Village will accommodate over 5,000 athletes and game officials registered for the games. The Games Village will be the main games centre for accreditation, transport, and other administrative issues, as well as a venue for wrestling, athletics (track and field), squash, and rugby.
The game environment has a high level of friendliness waiting to welcome sports fans who will be visiting the facilities in support of the 13th African Games.
President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) and member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2023 African Games, Mr. Samson Deen, has assured the 54 participatory countries and followers of the African Games 2023 of calm coordination when it comes to security.
He added that the traffic officers will dutifully ensure safe movement during the games to prevent any uncertainties and hectic conditions when one decides to visit the venue as part of their support for the games.
Ghana is prepared to host over 5,000 athletes as the African Games draw closer. On the flip side, Team Ghana will be represented by over 500 athletes who will be competing in most of the 25 events.
