Limann and Sabah Halls Win Tug Of War Competition At University Of Ghana

Four men and two women teams from the University of Ghana, Legon took part in the first Inter-Halls Tug of War Championship organized by the Ghana Tug Of War Association (GHATOWA) on 8th December 2023.

The teams wereTeam Athletics, Team UGSSC, Team Limann, and Team Legon Hall. They battled in pulling at the Athletes Oval field of the University of Ghana from 4:30 pm till about 6:30 pm.

In the men’s Division, the first pull Team UGDSC lost to Team Limann who progressed to the final with Team Athletics.

The second pull was between Team Legon Hall and Team Athletics in which Team Athletics won with 2:0 and progressed to final. The 3rd and 4th pull was between Team Legon and Team Limann in which Team Legon won.

The final pull was between Team Athletics and Team UGSSC in which Team Limann came out as winner by a score of 2:1.

In the women’s Division, Team Mensah Sarbah won and Team Volta was second.

At the end of the event, Mr S. B. Macualey, Vice President of the Ghana Tug of War Association presented medals to the various winners.

The organisers also distributed orange drinks provided by Cave and Gardens, to all participants. Mr. Henry Nii Sackey, Mr. Emmanuel Bruce-Okine, and Mr. Suleman Mensah graced the occasion.

Ghana Tug of War Association (GHATOWA) officials on the day were Mr. Charles Oteng Acquah, Juliana Kwaning, Portia and Shina, Nana Yaw, and Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, President of the federation.
