2023 Africa Cup of Nations: Benjamin Tetteh makes surprise return to Black Stars after inclusion provisional squad
FC Metz striker, Benjamin Tetteh has made a surprise return to the Black Stars provisional squad ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The former Dreams FC striker last played for the Black Stars during the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, where he was sent off in the final group game against Comoros.
The 26-year-old striker was slapped with a three-game ban.
However, Chris Hughton has included Tetteh, who has played eight times for Metz without scoring in his provisional list.
The final list 27-man squad will be announced on January 3.
Ghana have been housed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
The Black Stars of Ghana will first come up against Cape Verde at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on January 14, 2024, then face Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
The 34th edition of the AFCON has been scheduled to kick off from January 13 to February 11.
