Naa Ayele, a beautiful lady who has been regularly visiting the Bukom Boxing Arena to watch the Ghana Boxing League says there is no entertainment or any place to go have have fun that is why she loves to go to the Arena to while away time on Saturday evenings.
She said the place is not safe as it is free and people come from different places carrying dangerous gadgets and weapons which are not checked.
“In fact we are never safe at the Arena, but because we want to have fun and entertainment we go to watch the musicians who perform” she said.
“Please I want the Boxing Authorities to tighten the security, but I even surprised that the security men at times get angry and want to beat innocent people who have come just to have fun” she added.
Naa Ayele, a trader at Makola who lives at Korle Gonno noted that the Boxing League is a nice concept which must be well produced well programmed and well organised because she is a fan of Max TV and watch there Tenovela Series.
“We enjoy the programmes on Max TV because at times they show us on the TV, but we are not happy with the security arrangement and especially when we see that a boxer has lost and the next day the GBA President wants to change the results because his boxer lost. We all know boxing is sports and the results are win, lose or draw. I think the GBA President should not interfere with the verdicts and should allow the referees and judges to work” she expressed.
The Ghana Professional Boxing League has been attracting fans to the Bukom Boxing Arena every fortnight, and it is good for Sports Tourism.
