American star Noah Lyles won the 200m New York City Grand Prix
The 25-year-old marked an impressive time of only 19.83 seconds
He also equalled Usain Bolt’s record for most 200m race victories
Noah Lyles has matched an impressive record that was held by none other than legendary Jamaican runner, Usain Bolt.
The American sprinter equalled Bolt’s mark for the most 200-metre contests with times of less than 20 seconds.
The 25-year-old was able to run a time of 19.83 seconds at the NYC Grand Prix at Randall Island’s Icahn Stadium on Saturday.

According to NBC Sports, Lyles’ time of 19.83 seconds was good enough for first place in the men’s 200-metre race. To keep the record for himself, he simply needs to run one more race of that distance in under 20 seconds.
Time is on the American’s side to break because he will only be 26 years old next month.
As for this year, the Florida-born has the fastest 200m time at 19.67 seconds.
After the race, Lyles told NBC’s Lewis Johnson:
“It’s not perfect, but it was very fun.”
Lyles is now the third fastest 200m sprinter in history, behind Usain Bolt’s 19.19 seconds and Yohan Blake’s 19.26 seconds.
