Son of maverick Ghanaian Heavyweight boxer cum entertainer Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has laid bare his intentions of joining the pugilistic art: boxing; a sport to which his father has dedicated himself, earned envious feats and endeared himself to the heart of a nation and a people.Despite his numerous hubris and hamartia Ghanaians love Bukom Banku, and that is an inexorable veracity.
Would same adulation be proffered to his twenty year old son Abubakar Kamoko, a Senior High School graduate who studied Building and construction at Afadjato Senior High School?
Abubakar Kamoko is the darling offspring of yet another Ghana-Nigeria love affair between Bukom Banku and his first love, Nigerian Chinyere Gladys Duru.
“My father strictly instructed all of us to stay away from boxing until we had attained an appreciable level of education. So soon after my completion of High School I informed him of my passion for boxing and he obliged”, the well-built stout lad told boxing reporter Samuel Opoku Amoah in an exclusive interview.
“I’d had a firm a firm grip on the basics from my Dad before joining Trainer Lawrence Carl Lokko’s Bronx Boxing stable and the honing and grooming I’ve been through so far has made evident the difference between a boxer and a trainer”, he further revealed.
Young Kamoko, nicknamed Bukom Tilapia who also admires Gypsy King Tyson Fury and enjoys music from dancehall icon Shatta Wale exudes effusive confidence like his father and is also blessed with the gift of the gab.
Indeed at the time of filing this report he had advertently yakked his way into a community challenge against a fellow upstart from another boxing gym which trainer Carl Lokko was attempting to douse.
He enjoins Ghanaians to support and pray for him since he is keen on winning laurels for the motherland.
He admonished his fan base in Akoto Lante and beyond to keep hopes alive because he has something special up his sleeves.
“My father Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has done exploits in boxing but my aim is to exceed the heights he attained”, said a confident and exuberant Abubakar Kamoko.
Observing his tall stature, charming persona and boxing heritage, one might not be wrong in believing : another Heavyweight marvel on our hands; of course, carved from the loins of Bukom Banku: His name – Abubakar Kamoko aka Bukom Tilapia.
