In the aftermath of his boxer’s dominant win over an experienced opponent in Emmanuel Quaye at the Idrowhyt Events Center in Dansoman, Lawrence Carl Lokko, Head Trainer of the Bronx Boxing Gym has made some startling revelations.
In an exclusive interview with Boxing Writer Sam Nana Opoku Amoah Gold, the Ghana Boxing Authority Board member who has also served as the body’s technical director divulged, ” Yes, we accepted to fight for free, we took the fight despite the absence of a purse package because I had consummate conviction in the preparedness, doggedness and combativeness of my boxer.”
The bout which was on a bill dubbed” Night of the Stars, presented by Cabic Boxing Promotions, Box Office Promotions and Bronx Boxing Promotions saw a ruthlessly aggressive Jacob Tetteh Laryea aka Chorkor Fire pummel fellow Chorkor native,Quaye over ten gruelling rounds of fistic action.
Tetteh Laryea annexed the West African Boxing Union Super Welterweight Title much to the chagrin of Quaye, who complained of a shoulder injury prior to the fight and immediately called for a rematch.
