The Ghana Jiu Jitsu Federation is organizing an Open Combat Championship on Saturday April 29 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The programme dubbed “The Greater Accra Open Combat Championships embraces martial arts practitioners from all walks of life to participate.
Electroland Ghana, in their quest to promote Jiu Jitsu in Ghana has donated electrical appliances and other souvenirs to be presented to fighters who excel come Saturday.
“Electroland has always supported sports which we believe is a catalyst for national growth and development. We are a committed partner in helping Jiu Jitsu thrive as a sport in Ghana and across Africa”, stated Mr. Nassif Siklawi – Operations Manager of Electroland Ghana.
Maxwell Borquaye, President of the Ghana Jiu Jitsu Federation hinted that they were putting plans in place to host the Africa Combat Jiu Jitsu Championships here in Accra in July and expressed optimism that the event would be a successful one.
Boxing manager and sports promoter, Evans Bernie Johnson, who is also the Vice President of the Federation thanked Electroland Ghana for the support and asked for more corporate involvement and assistance.
Marketing manager for Electroland Ghana Adiza Kubura Ibrahim on her part intimated her outfit’s alacrity to help boost “The Gentle Art” as Jiu Jitsu is called, across all regions in Ghana.
Daniel Earll, a US military veteran, who is the newly appointed Head Coach of National Jiu Jitsu team expressed optimism that the team would be in shape to win laurels at any tournament they participate in.
Fighters who excel would be drafted into the national team in preparation for a tournament in Kazakhstan slated for June.
Electroland Ghana Limited deals in products from Samsung, Midea, Toshiba, Nasco and Electrolux built-in appliances nationwide.
