Minister of Sports, Hon. Mustapha Yusif has reiterated government’s unbridled desire to catalyze sustained development in Ghana Boxing. He made these remarks in a speech at the Grand Launch of the second season of The Ghana Professional Boxing League.
The minister in his speech noted President Akufo Addo’s love for boxing and described him as the number one fan of Ghana Boxing whiles alluding himself ( Minister) as a Bonafide Ambassador for Ghana Boxing.
Honourable Yusif also called on corporate bodies to step in and support boxing in order to win more laurels both at the amateur and professional levels since government could not achieve that all alone.
The Ghana Professional Boxing League which is scheduled to return in March this year promises to be a notch more exciting and competitive given the inclusion of the Armed Forces and The Prisons Service. The number of participating gyms has also been increased from twelve to fourteen.
The Ghana Professional Boxing League is put together by Imax Media Group Promotions in collaboration with the Ghana Boxing Authority and would be beamed live across the world on Max Television.
