The Ghana lifesaving and Diving Association-GHALDA has commenced its Diving course at the University of Ghana Legon Pool.
The course is under the instruction of the President of the Association, David Kwasi Afezame who is an international lifeguard certification instructor, International Diving instructor and a Chief Dive instructor in the Navy.
The first day saw participants going through the elementary stages of diving in pools. Participants were again introduced to the usage of fins and and underwater breath control.
Day two saw participants being engaged in the skill of finning and as theory session.
Speaking to the Ultimate Sports, Rauf Zakaria, a participant was highly expectant and believed “this course will help me shape up my level in lifeguarding, and I will learn something new to impact into the society “- he said.
The one week course will further see participants tasting the challenge in deep sea waters in Accra and Sogakope.
The Ghana lifesaving and Diving Association-GHALDA has intensified its drowning prevention measures this year and has already tanked down series of activities to achieve its objectives.
