The upcoming Africa Road Paracycling Championships next month is gaining steady momentum with its first Local Organizing Committee meeting held in Accra today.
Representatives from the Ghana Police MTTD Unit, National Ambulance service, Sports for All and the Media were present.
Chief Superintendent Dr. Sasu Mensah represented the Police MTTD, Nana Adu Mankatta II for Sports for all, Awandaogo for the National Ambulance service, Dennis Kweku Moore for the Media, Daniel Amoo and Shaaban Mohammed representing the Federation.
The meeting hinged on preparations from the various institutions ahead of the impending crucial Championships.
The LOC proposed the formation of sub-committees to fast track the roles and responsibilities as the event is three weeks shy to roll.
Topical issues concerning transportation, accomodation, logistics, protocol, security were centrally discussed with actionable plans as a matter of urgency.
The Federation is hosting such Mammoth event for the first time in the history of the sport and can already confirm of over 20 countries already set to storm the Ablekuma enclave.
The Championship forms part of qualifiers for the Paris Olympics and it is expected to be graced by tough Cycling countries in Africa.
The program will also see more Paracyclists being classified for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris.
