One of the novel Sporting disciplines which is about to get “baptized” into the lists of existing least finance sports in the country by the National Sports Authority is highly optimistic this year will nurture more positive developmental projects under its calendar.
The infant Association has already joined strings with the other 48 Sporting disciplines under the NSA and is shooting rapidly with its developmental programs in 2023.
The latest event JIM HENEGHAN Youth competition has been held this year with impressive turnouts. The GFDA is already working hard to promote Disc Golf in Ghana notwithstanding the challenges it has gone through. Infact the GDFA has been able to make some gains including negotiations for the establishment of a permanent course and hopefully 2023 will be a good year for disc Golf.
The GFDA outfit again is hoping to commence their university programs starting with the University of Ghana followed by other universities.
“Our aim is to set up the first official standard 18-hole disc golf course in Ghana at the University of Ghana”- their official handle stated.
In 2023, the GFDA will also be commencing the Disc Sports Exchange program and would be seeking to host a few experienced Disc Golfers in Ghana to help promote the game in schools and communities across the country as indicated by Mr. Desmond Kwame Mantey, GFDA President.
The Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf games promotion and development by Ghana Flying Disc Association -GFDA is a fast growing sport in the country and already establishing a visible output in some communities across the country.
