One of the central calendar activities of the Ghana Cycling Federation is the hosting of this year’s Africa Road/Paracycling Road Championships scheduled for next month,8th to 17th February 2023 inside the Ablekuma Ollebu area.
This would be the first time ever that the Federation would be organizing such a Mammoth event in the country.
Selected Coaches for the respective categories today held a crucial meeting on the Technical and tactical duties of every coach. The Elite/Under 23, Junior and Youth categories will be on action.
Over 20 African countries have already registered interest.
The Local Organizing Committee for the Championship is set to roll in the coming days.
President of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mohammed Sahnoon Esq. in an Executive Committee meeting briefing, has endorsed progress of work already from the Technical Team led by Daniel Amoo.
The event will see competitions in the Road Race, Time Trials in the Elite, Under 23 and Junior Categories,both male and female.
In an interview with the Secretary General of the Federation, Shaaban Mohammed, he hinted that ” plans are far advanced in welcoming all the countries to this event,”. “It is going to be one if the best Championships in Africa”- he added.
Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation Daniel Amoo was very happy at the meeting and was optimistic Ghana will excel at the Championships.
Ghana will explode from the 8-17th February,2023 at the Ablekuma Ollebu Road as over 20 African powehouses are set to shake the road network.
