MOHAMMED SAHNOON MAINTAINS POSITION AT ELECTIVE CONGRESS

The speculations and anxiety surrounding this year’s Cycling Elective Congress is finally over with incumbent Mohammed Sahnoon Esq maintaining his seat as President of the Federation for the second successive time. He went unopposed when his close contestant,Mr. Kwabena Larbi of The Boss Tribe Cycling club withdrew his candidature.

The three other Executive positions comprising Shaaban Mohammed, Bright Kwaasi Nyarko and Wilberforce Nii Anum Quaye also went unopposed with a withdrawal from Seidu Wahab of Team Sky Cycling club.

For the first time in the history of the Federation, there was a Regional representation where all representatives became automatic members of the Management Team.

The Management Team in turn also appointed the Secretary General, the Deputy Secretary General,Treasurer, the Deputy Treasurer and the Public Relations Officer.

Mohammed Riyahd, Chairman of Eastern Region Cycling club was unanimously appointment by the Management Committee as the Vice President of the Federation.

Shaaban Mohammed was endorsed by the Management Team as the new Secretary General with Joseph Kwame Addo as the Deputy Secretary General.

Bright Kwaasi Nyarko, an Executive member of the Eastern Region Cycling Federation was also appointed the National Treasurer of the Federation with Mr. Ali Umar of Pacesetters Cycling club in the Northern Region as the Deputy Treasurer.

Former Secretary General,Dennis Kweku Moore has been elevated to a higher Public Relations Officer position with additional duties in the African sub Region.

Three women have also been appointed unto the Women’s commission. These include Madam Cynthia wintima Administrative Manager, Agnes Owusua of Team Epic, Kuki and Denyse Tesire from Gladiators Cycling club.

Two other members, Charles Hansen-Quao and Kwabena Larbi of Gladiators Cycling club and The Boss Tribe were coopted into the Management Team with no voting rights.

Firebunch Cycling club and Velo Stars have been expunged from the Federation for lack of activity and involvement.

The Ghana Cycling Federation has been one of the active disciplines in the country this year and already relishing huge programs including the historic hosting of the Africa Road/ Paracycling Championships next year.
