MAWUKO AFADZINU INFLICTS HEAVY DEFEAT ON GREEN TEAM: GRABS 1ST VICE PRESIDENCY POSITION

The “musical chairs” 1st Vice Presidency vacancy slot finally dropped against the odds of the Green Team, paving way for the new occupant Mawuko Afadzinu, President of Table Tennis.

What appeared to be a solemn and peaceful Congress was marred with intermittent verbal jabs in and outside congress grounds.

Proceedings continued unabated with congress voting for the motion that the election of the 1st Vice position should precede the rest of the agenda.

Mawuko Afadzinu flatly nullified the hopes and dreams of the Green Team with a sweeping statement of 38 votes to 19.

The affable Banker and Board member of the International Table Tennis Federation is optimistic the future of Ghana Sports is bright.

This year’s first AGM in almost a year brought in its wake the ostensible desire and passion to resuscitate the Olympic “spirit” from its current state.

The Ghana Olympic committee held its last Elective Congress in March 2021 with an overwhelming, unprecedented win for all contesting candidates.

It is now indisputably visible the confidence reposed in the Green Team has sunk, giving birth to a new paradigm galaxical third force emerging with a refined renaissance in salvaging the alleged dying distress of numerous Federations under the umbrella of the current fractured GOC.
