The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee GOC, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has been invited to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by Sheik Hamad El Thani to join him watch the match between Ghana and Uruguay on Friday, December 2nd.According to Mr. Nunoo Mensah, he feels really honored and would be routing for the Black Stars to win the match against Uruguay to qualify for the next stage of the competition.He noted that Ghana will not allow Uruguay to defeat them for the second time, and all the players should put in their best to make Ghana and Africa proud.He commended the team put together by Coach Otto Addo, under the administration of Mr. Edwin Kurt Okraku with Andre Dede Ayew as the captain, and hoped that they excel to prove to the world that Ghana is truly among the best football nations.Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah hailed Qatar for organizing one of the best and memorable tournaments which has produced shocks and surprises.”The tournament has been wonderful and I congratulate the leadership and citizens of Qatar for showing the commitment and determination to host the FIFA World Cup” he expressed.He also commended the government of Ghana led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for supporting the fans who are in Doha to cheer the Black Stars, the pride of Africa.He urged all Ghanaians, at home and abroad to pray for the Black Stars and support them to win their last group H match to qualify to the round of 16.Ghana has lost one match against Portugal which resulted in 2-3, and beaten South Korea 3-2 to record 5 goals for and 5 goals against.They need to beat Uruguay who cheated on them in 2010 at the World Cup in South Africa, where Luis Surez handled a goal bound ball for Ghana to be denied the opportunity of becoming the first African nation to reach the Semi Finals, after losing on penalties.Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani is a member of the ruling Al Thani Qatari royal family.
