Did you know that the Choice 102.3 FM Sports Pioneers first met in 1998 when the radio station was called Sunshine Radio.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Randy Abbey and Ibrahim Sannie Darra. Two of them (Yaw and Ibrahim) went on to become employees of the BBC World Service. Later, two of them became GFA Communications Directors (Randy and Ibrahim)as well as officers at the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Dr Randy Abbey currently holds a position at the Inter Clubs Committee at CAF.
Ibrahim Sannie Darra is a CAF Communications Officer and Yaw Ampofo Ankrah heads Beach Soccer in Ghana; a sport he introduced to Ghana in 2008. He also co-created the Black Stars Diary with Alhaji Talal Fattal for Metro TV at the 2006 Fifa World Cup Finals in Germany.
Together, Qatar 2022 marks FOUR World Cup Tournaments they have actively been engaged in as Sports journalists or Football Administrators.
Yaw has also worked with Supersport in South Africa and is the Founder of Books & Boots.
This is an inspirational story of remarkable friendship, brotherhood and destiny that should inspire the younger generation to work hard with dedication and consistency.
