Sports enthusiast, George Haldane – Lutterodt ,has urged the government to reconsider hosting the African Games amid the dire Economic challenges in which the country finds itself.
A popular Whatsapp Federations platform ( NF Platform) has received mixed reactions to this very statement made by the legendary Sports administrator.
Ultimate Sports lead capo, Dennis Kweku Moore seeks to bring a fruitful discussion to this very issue after speaking to GOC Operations Officer Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation Shaaban Mohammed.
Shaaban had this to write on the NF Platform:
“It makes sense to bring it to table for discussions. I have the confidence that Ghana can still host this game with the following suggestions.
The AG 2023 LOC, the National Federations and their Confederations should make it happen
The AG 2023 LOC, the National Federations and MoYaS should design the road map properly to host this event.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the AG 2023 LOC and the National Federations should seek for sponsorship of team development.
The GOC should help the National Federations to develop athletes and coaches, Officiating officials and others through it source at the international and local levels.
Almost all the 25 disciplines in coming games have potential sponsors that can be discuss for full commitment on sponsorship for the coming AG 2023 in different areas.
Let’s look at the following areas critically
- Athletes and Football play grounds.
- Swimming play grounds
The remaining 22 disciplines play grounds is adjustable.
Cycling : Ablekuma Pokuasi Route is the play grounds for all the Cycling events.
I believe each Federations have same as cycling?
IT IS OUR GAMES
