Ghana’s Olympic Games hero Samuel Takyi who annexed Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics has bared his teeth at current national Lightweight Champion Richard Fenyi. Takyi turned pro in April this year stopping Kamarudeen Boyefio in just two rounds. He has subsequently had impressive wins in South Africa and Nigeria. Trained by legend and ex WBA welterweight Champion Ike Bazooka Quartey, the young lad who also fights under Bazooka Boxing Promotions and Management wants to fight for the national title in December and has accordingly fired shots at the champion and all others in the division. Richard Fenyi won the national title this year after upsetting Victor Kuwornu. He has had a couple of defenses and is not likely to duck a challenge from “The Ring Warrior”. Fight fans can expect fireworks should this fight materialize. BY SAMUEL OPOKU AMOAH ( SAM NANA GOLD)
