Two Athletes of the Gogetem Wheelchair Racing Club,Ghana’s 3-time Paralympian Botsyo Nkegbe and fellow wheelchair racer Yakubu Abukari are set to fly to South Africa to participate in this year’s Outeniqua Wheelchair Challenge and the Cape Town Marathon Race which comes off on the 15th of October 2022.
This year’s event happens to be the 19th edition since its inception in 2002.
The Outeniqua Wheelchair Challenge is organized by the Disabled Road Race Foundation and is expected to embrace over a 1000 Athletes inside the founder city of St. George.
One of the best year’s of Ghana’s participation was in 2015 where Ghana won 4 medals. Ayishetu Seidu won Gold in the 42km race, MacLean Atsu Dzidzienyo also raked in a Gold medal in the 21km race with Botsyo Nkegbe pulling out a silver medal in the Men’s 42km.
The duo will depart from Ghana to South Africa barring any unforeseen circumstances.
