Ayawaso CP Football club are intensifying their training ahead of their epic return leg encounter in Nigeria next month.
It would be recalled, a selection of a CP side engaged the Nigerians two years ago in Accra with the host country losing by 7-2. A scoreline that has been haunting Ghana since.
But the seriousness and determination of the Ayawaso CP Football club seems more or less of a revenge for Ghana come next month.
The Team were privileged to have been joined by High Profile Police Officers – Chief Inspector Monica Ponlaga with the Ghana Police Service Mamprobi Divisional and husband Stephen Asalanyina ,also a Chief Inspector. They trained with the team and encouraged the boys to be resolute in their field of endeavour.
The Team and officials also had the privilege of engaging in a photoshoot with former WBO Bantamweight Champion and current world title aspirant Isaac Royal Storm Dogboe at the Accra sports stadium.
President of Ayawaso CP Football club,Mr. Emmanuel Akpabli believed the Development of the Sport was crucial. ” Let us unite as one people and develop the sport, the Athletes are more important and so I am begging the President to call for a lasting solution to the National problem.”- he said.
The Team is already in high spirits and plans are far advanced to engage Nigeria next month. And nothing short of victory is the target of the Team.
Secretary General of CP FOOTBALL in Ghana, Dennis Kweku Moore was of praise to the Team and the club Executives for their great dedication to the Sport.
CP FOOTBALL has been on the slight decline until the Ayawaso CP Football club emerged with serious training attracting the eye of a few sponsors who are prepared to lift the image of the Sport from the club level.
