Team Ghana Chef Du Mission at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Mr. Fred Acheampong has expressed his displeasure on some media reportage on one athlete who has been sent home for failing a random test by the officials of the Commonwealth Games.
Mr Fred Acheampong also known as ‘Achie’ briefed a section of the Ghanaian media in Birmingham and displayed his dismay at the reports circulating in Ghana that the boxer has been banned, but it is false.
Shakul Samed failed a test for randomly selected athletes, although he tested positive for a banned substance found in his blood , Team Ghana are waiting for the results of his sample B results too.
The results of the sample B should be different from the sample A so that the Commonwealth Games Commission will take a decision on that but if it turns out to be the same that is where sanctions will go the athlete.
Samed has since been sent home because of the revocation of his participation.
