The president of the Ghana Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Ghana, Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah has called on sports federations and administrators to invest more in International Technical Officials (ITOs) because it gives the country the strength in officiating at the International level .
He expressed his feelings after been asked questions on the preparations of Team Ghana.
Mr Ben Nunoo-Mensah was hopeful about preparations of the Ghanaian athletes, but he lamented on investing in more ITOs, but would not comment on Team Ghana’s best of preparations as he believed it could have done better although Ghana is still hopeful for a medal from the Commonwealth Games.
Ghana has started the Athletics events and they are doing quite well as Azamati ans Sean Safo-Antwi qualified for the Semi Finals, after their memorable exploits at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon,Eugene.
Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah commended Joseph Commey over his stoppage of Papua New Guinea opponent in the second round of the on going Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK to make it to the quarter finals.
